YPO Gold Pacific Expedition

The next step in your YPO experience

ex•pe•di•tion

a journey or voyage undertaken by a group of people with a particular purpose, especially that of exploration
YPO Gold Pacific Expedition has been thoughtfully designed to enrich the lives of YPO Gold members – in a way that’s unique from traditional YPO chapters and events. Our goal is to deliver an experience tailored for members who no longer need to learn how to build success, because they’ve already reached that pinnacle.
Our members are focused on enriching their lives, exploring novel destinations, nourishing friendships, and discovering new passions.

the distinction

We’re regional, expanding our horizons beyond local chapter geography.
We’re inclusive, welcoming partners and in some circumstances, adult children.
We’re experiential and fun, meeting several times per year over multiple days, in exciting locations throughout the region and beyond.
We’re selective, to ensure a more intimate experience, initially accepting just 40 members and potentially increasing if conditions allow.
We’re educational, offering rich learning opportunities with every exploration.
We’re forum-focused, recognizing that forums are a vital part of the YPO experience, and are offering optional member, spouse, couples, and micro forums.

Vibrant Vistas: A Cultural Odyssey Through Mexico City!

30 April – 4 May 2025

Vibrant Vista: A Cultural Odyssey Through Mexico City was an unforgettable journey through the heart of Mexico’s lively capital and beyond. We savored the authentic flavors of Mexico City, immersing ourselves in its rich gastronomic culture. We delved into the nation’s deep history at the awe-inspiring archaeological site of Teotihuacan, where the majestic Pyramid of the Sun and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl stand as timeless testaments to a bygone era. We glided through the enchanting Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, where colorful, gondola-like boats adorned with mariachi bands carried us along ancient canals to a farm-to-table lunch featuring fresh produce from the chinampas (floating gardens). Most importantly, we shared these remarkable experiences with fellow chapter members and spouses—building bonds that will last well beyond the event.

Pacific Odyssey: Easter Island, the Amazon and Galapagos

24 August – 6 September 2025

Our chapter embarked on an extraordinary journey through three of the world’s most iconic and remote destinations — Easter Island, the Amazon Rainforest, and the Galápagos Islands. We began in Santiago, Chile, before traveling to the mystical shores of Easter Island. Standing among the legendary moai statues, we explored the island’s captivating history and rich Polynesian heritage, gaining insight into one of the world’s most intriguing cultures. From there, we journeyed into the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. Surrounded by breathtaking biodiversity, we encountered remarkable wildlife and deepened our understanding of the indigenous communities who have stewarded this vital ecosystem for generations. After time to enjoy the beauty and charm of historic Quito, our expedition culminated with an unforgettable cruise aboard the Horizon through the Galápagos Islands. Amid dramatic volcanic landscapes and extraordinary wildlife found nowhere else on earth, we snorkeled alongside sea lions, walked among giant tortoises, and witnessed firsthand the natural wonders that inspired Darwin’s theory of evolution. This remarkable expedition blended culture, adventure, and discovery — a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Climate vs. The Economy

22 – 25 January 2026

Our Climate vs. The Economy program convened members at Stanford Park Hotel, across the Stanford University campus, and at The Family Farm for two and half immersive days exploring how economic growth and climate solutions can advance together. The experience opened with a compelling fireside conversation between Bob Keefe and Bob Inglis on their personal climate journeys and the role of bipartisan leadership in the United States. Sessions at the Stanford Faculty Club and the Stanford Central Energy Facility brought together leading investors, technologists, and academics to examine capital flows, decarbonization trends, and breakthrough innovations in solar, geothermal, advanced nuclear, and energy systems. The program concluded in Portola Valley with discussions on methane policy, regenerative agriculture, impact investing, and regenerative ranching—highlighting how environmental stewardship and business performance can reinforce one another and advancing a shared commitment to scalable, market-based solutions for a net-positive future.

MOAB IN THE RED ROCK: Glamping Under the Stars

1 – 4 May 2026

Our Moab Glamping retreat was an unforgettable adventure in the breathtaking Utah desert, filled with spectacular scenery, exhilarating experiences, and plenty of time together. From tackling the thrilling trails of Hell’s Revenge and exploring the canyons to hiking through the stunning red rock landscape and soaring above it all in a hot air balloon, there was no shortage of adventure. Our stay at ULUM, nestled among the dramatic landscape between Arches and Canyonlands, provided the perfect setting to experience the beauty of the desert in comfort and style. Beyond the adventures, the retreat was about connection and community. Our socials and shared experiences gave us time to relax, laugh, and strengthen friendships while welcoming our newest members into the YPO Expedition family. It was a wonderful opportunity to step away from the everyday, experience something new together, and create memories that will stay with us long after we left the desert.

Event Feedback:
"This expedition event was spectacular. So many once in a lifetime experiences, a 12-person massive ballon experience being able to see three national parks at once. Climbing across the face of cliffs through canyoneering and via ferrata. Hummers through terrain very few people will ever go on, and a 2-mile hike to stunning arches. Plus, you throw in people you care about, and it was more than a "10"." By Steve Shallenberger

"Loved it… the whole experience. Comfortable, different, many of the things I love about being off the grid without actually being off the grid. " By Rob Coppedge

Camino de Santiago: Path of Pilgrims

6 - 18 September 2026

Our Camino de Santiago adventure was an unforgettable journey through Portugal and Spain, combining beautiful scenery, meaningful experiences, and the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the journey together. We began in Porto with wonderful experiences including the World of Wine, port and wine tastings, a pastel de nata workshop, a private tour of Porto, and the Porto Bridge Climb before making our way to Vigo and beginning our walk along the Camino. Along the way, we walked through charming villages, beautiful countryside, and historic towns, covering miles together each day as we made our way to Santiago de Compostela. While the Camino itself was the centerpiece, the connections made along the way were just as meaningful. With beautiful weather, shared meals, plenty of laughter, and time to walk and talk, we had the chance to get to know one another on a deeper level and strengthen the bonds within our Expedition family. From the first steps in Vigo to our arrival in Santiago and the celebration that followed, it was a journey filled with adventure, reflection, camaraderie, and memories we will carry with us for years to come.
